Teamwork at MIPM

For MIPM, it was clear to help when the war broke out in Ukraine. When MIPM helps, it helps locally. In this case, this was not feasible at first, so money was donated to other contact points, totalling 3,500 euros. Language courses were also included.

When the request came through a Mammendorf resident to employ a Ukrainian woman, MIPM was immediately ready. ‘Providing a job so that the Ukrainian could then be integrated in Germany was the best way for us to help,’ says Jennifer Rosenheimer, Managing Director. Only one week passed between the initial interview and the first day of work. When asked: Do you pay minimum wage, the answer was a very clear ‘no’, because we pay more. ‘Why should we treat Ukrainian women, who provide the same services as other members of the MIPM family, any differently?’ says Michael N. Rosenheimer, Senior Manager.

Everyday work is accompanied by a translation app on the mobile phone to make the language barrier and thus integration easier. ‘But Katerina also makes it easy for us. Her commitment and openness to the language inspire us every day.’ Says Michael Arnold, Technical Director. ‘We are also lucky to have employees who speak the language and can therefore act as translators.’

MIPM is aware that we don't know what the situation will bring or how long Katerina will stay with us. But this way we can take the Ukrainians by the hand, rather than ‘just’ donating money. There is still enough room in the family for more Ukrainians at Katerina's side.
