MIPM Shipping Team visits a freight forwarding company at Munich Airport – hands-on, practical training

Such visits are particularly valuable for young professionals like Simon Kellerer, who recently successfully completed his apprenticeship. Theoretical knowledge gained during the apprenticeship is directly linked to practical experience, international goods flows become tangible, and logistical interrelationships are explained in a way that is easy to understand. It is precisely these experiences that set the apprenticeship at MIPM apart.

“It is important to us not only to explain processes to our trainees and newly qualified colleagues, but also to let them experience them first-hand,” emphasises the shipping team. “A visit to our freight forwarding office impressively demonstrates how many steps and interfaces are necessary to ensure that medical products reach their destination safely, on time and in compliance with regulations.”

The trip is a prime example of the training philosophy at MIPM: taking responsibility, playing an active role and thinking outside the box – even beyond the actual training period. The fact that trainees and young professionals are regularly given the opportunity to take part in exciting external engagements – and, as in this case, even to undertake them independently in the trainee van – underscores the high priority the company places on training.

MIPM makes a conscious effort to invest in the development of its own young professionals and creates an environment where learning does not take place exclusively in the office. Such practical experience not only strengthens technical understanding, but also fosters team spirit and long-term loyalty to the company
