Children are not small adults. This is especially true in emergencies: First aid for children and infants differs from that for adults.

Dr. Celine Briers, a physician and social educator, is herself a mother of two small children. She knows the techniques that can help children in emergencies and even save lives. Specifically for members of the MIPM family (Mammendorf Institute for Physics and Medicine GmbH), Dr. Briers conducted a three-hour compact course on first aid for children in Mammendorf.

One of the special features of this course, which Dr. Briers also regularly offers in Gilching, is that parents can bring their children to the first aid course. It makes sense for both parents to attend the course, just like Max's parents. His father is Florian Warmuth, production manager at MIPM. "I really enjoyed the course because a first aid course for children was completely new to me," he says. And he definitely recommends such a course.

Also worth recommending are the open positions at the MIPM family. The institute is urgently looking for reinforcements in all departments. Members of the MIPM family regularly receive first aid courses in-house, with the costs covered by MIPM. This commitment was one of the reasons why Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann awarded the Mammendorf Institute the "Volunteer-Friendly Company" award in mid-August.
